Among the many Halloween activities available this year is a Pumpkin Painting and Decorating Contest, hosted by 11:1 Catering at Lake Frances in Madison. The contest is for painting and decorating pumpkins only, not for carving.
There are different groups for submissions, including the “Pumpkin Sprouts,” for ages six and under; the “Pumpkin Pals,” for ages seven to 12; the “Pumpkin Pros,” for ages 13 to 17; the “Whole Vine Crew,” for anyone over 18 and for families; and the “Business Pumpkin Patch,” for all local businesses of any kind who may want to submit a pumpkin.
All entries will be posted as they’re submitted, and you can vote for your favorite one on Facebook or in person at Lake Frances. Drop-offs are accepted from Friday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Oct. 23; voting will be open from Sunday, Oct. 25 until Friday, Oct. 30; winners will be announced on the final day of voting.
