Statewide, Florida nursing homes are still on lockdown as COVID-19 continues. It's been months since residents have been able to see their family and friends face to face, but one local facility is trying new ways to keep residents in touch, not just with old friends, but new ones as well.
Lake Park of Madison has started working with their residents on pen-pal correspondence, a time-honored hobby in which two people write each other and interact via postal mail.
Whether you have a dear friend at Lake Park of Madison, or would like to show a resident there's someone who cares, you can address your pen-pal letter to a resident currently living at the local facility. Letters must have an addressed name and be sent to 259 SW Captain Brown Rd., in Madison.
For more information, call Lake Park of Madison Activities Director Maggie Kelley at (850) 973-8277.
