There's good news swirling for book lovers in Madison County! The Madison Public Library and the Lee Public Library reopened their doors on Monday, June 1, with exceptions listed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Library staff welcomes book enthusiasts to peruse the shelves of knowledge by appointment only, which are required to access the library's physical collection and computers.
Readers are allowed 30 minutes per appointment to select material and/or use technology for research, faxing and printing purposes. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or adult caregiver at all times. Readers are encouraged to wear a mask while inside the library, as well as encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines.
Extended stays, social gatherings and meeting room books are not permitted at this time. Virtual programs, available at www.srlibb.org, remain available as in-house programs are still discontinued temporarily.
The Madison Public Library is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with no-contact curbside pick-up and drop-offs available on the same days, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Call (850) 973-6814 to book your appointment. Madison Public Library is located at 378 College Loop, in Madison.
The Lee Public Library is open Monday through Friday, except on Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. No-contact curbside pick-up and drop-offs are available on the same days, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To book your appointment, call (850) 971-5665. Greenville Public Library is open to the public as well. The library will be open by appointment only from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
