Major David Harper reports that on Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office S.E.R.T. team executed a narcotics search warrant along with felony arrest warrants at the home of James Clarence Hills Sr. located at 459 SW Lee Avenue in Madison. The search warrant and arrest warrants were obtained as a result of a covert illegal drug distribution investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force. During the search, investigators recovered additional crack cocaine packaged for sale, marijuana packaged for sale, codeine, a loaded shotgun found to be stolen from Jackson County, a loaded handgun reported stolen by the Madison Police Department and numerous rounds of ammunition. The serial number on the handgun had been altered by being scratched off.
James Clarence Hills Sr. is a multistate offender and 12-time convicted felon in the State of Florida. Hills previous arrest/charge history dates back to 1980 and includes dealing in stolen property, possess stolen vehicle, use firearm in commission of felony, robbery, grand larceny, burglary of business, fraud, VOP, possess deadly weapon during felony, possess marijuana, purchase marijuana, grand larceny, passing forged instrument, possess cocaine with intent to sell, possess marijuana, purchase marijuana, battery, aggravated assault with deadly weapon, possess marijuana, possess cocaine with intent to sell, possess drug equipment, aggravated assault with deadly weapon, possess marijuana, resist without violence, VOP, VOP, VOP, fail to appear, VOP, possess marijuana, cocaine sale 1000 feet of church, trafficking cocaine, possess cocaine with intent to sell, out of county warrant, fail to appear, distribution of crack cocaine, DWLSR, VOP, possess marijuana, and maintain dwelling for controlled substance.
