The United Methodist Cooperative Ministries (UMCM) of Madison County, Inc. is having a charity run to benefit the Madison Missions outreach programs. One of the main missions a part of the outreach program is an annual trip to the Kokrine Hills Bible Camp in Alaska. In order to raise funds for the trip to Kokrine Hills, UMCM is having a 15K run, a 10K run, a 5K run/walk and a one mile Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Feb. 13 with registration beginning at 7 a.m. The charity run will be held at United Methodist Cooperative Ministries located at 135 NE Dill Street. The 15K run will begin at 8 a.m., and the 10K run will begin at 8:30 a.m. At 9 a.m., the 5K run/walk will start, and at 9:15, the Fun Run/Walk will start. At 10 a.m., after the completion of the Fun Run/Walk, there will be an awards ceremony for overall male and female runners, with brunch following. Registration prices before Jan. 28 will be $20. Registration from Jan. 29 through Feb. 2 will be $25, and registration on the day the race takes place will be $30. The Fun Run/Walk registration will cost $10 before the price increase, and on Jan. 29, registration will cost $15 until Feb. 2. It will be approximately $20 to register for the fun run on the day the race takes place. T-shirts are guaranteed to runners registered by Jan. 28 and will be available on a per size basis on the day of the run for anyone who registered on or after Jan. 29.
