A Madison County resident was traveling north on US 221, in Greenville, on Saturday, May 24 at 5:50 a.m., when he failed to negotiate a curve.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, John L. McDonald, 55, entered the east shoulder and continued traveling northeast on the shoulder. The right side of the 1997 Ford Ranger struck a tree. The vehicle continued and struck a second tree with the right side of the vehicle. The vehicle began rotating clockwise and simultaneously rolled over. The vehicle came to a final rest on its roof. There were no injuries reported.
The Florida Highway Patrol charged McDonald with careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt.
