A three-vehicle collision occurred on I-10 near mile marker 237 on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 1:51 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Matthew Hindman, 25, of Tampa, was traveling on I-10 in the eastbound inside lane in a 2004 Lexus RX330. Kathryn Hampton, 69, of Jasper, Tenn., was traveling in front on Hindman in a 2013 GMC Terrain. Stella Cotton, 51, was traveling in front of Hampton in a 2005 Honda Accord.
Hampton and Cotton began to slow due to heavy traffic. The front of Hindman’s vehicle collided with the rear of Hampton’s vehicle. Due to the collision, the front of Hampton’s vehicle collided with the rear of Cotton’s vehicle. Hampton and Cotton pulled into the median and came to a final rest. Hindman came to a stop in the inside eastbound lane where a separate crash occurred that included that vehicle and then pulled into the median behind Hampton.
The drivers and their passengers received no injuries. Hindman was charged with careless driving.
