Three cars collided on Base St. at the intersection of Range St.
According to a report issued by the Madison Police Dept., on Saturday, Jan. 2, around 12:12 a.m., three vehicles driven by James Gamble, 29, of Madison; Douglas Bass, 31, of Madison and William McGee, 33, of Madison, collided together after Gamble, who was traveling east, took his eyes off the road and veered into the westbound lane of Base St.
Bass was traveling in the westbound lane and was forced to swerve to the side in an attempt to avoid a head on collision with Gamble’s 2000 Chevy Cavalier.
McGee was driving west behind Bass and after Bass swerved, Gamble’s vehicle clipped the back left side of Bass’ 2001 Ford Escape before crashing head on to McGee’s 1994 Pontiac Bonneville.
All three vehicles sustained considerable damage that resulted in all three being towed off the scene of the wreck; all three drivers and Bass’s passenger, Amada Poling, 33, of Greenville, were not reported with any injuries and no one had to be transported to the hospital.
Gamble is being charged with careless driving and not carrying and exhibiting a license.
