Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Thursday, May 12, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office drug task force observed a vehicle with faulty equipment and requested assistance from a patrol unit to conduct a traffic stop.
Corporal O’Brian responded and also observed the faulty equipment; stopping the vehicle at the intersection of Midway Church Road and County Road 255.
While engaged in conversation with the occupants, it was discovered that a passenger was in possession of marijuana. A probable cause search of the vehicle further discovered crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, a firearm, digital scales, syringe, butane torch, meth pipe and a ledger of previous sales. A total of approximately 16 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 83 grams of marijuana were seized from the occupants.
Those arrested were Douglas Brian Osborne, 35, of Lake City, Fl., with charges of possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to sell, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and Suwannee County VOP warrant; Heather Marie Hall, 34, of Lake City, Fl., with charges of possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana less than 20 grams; and Tina Marie Sheldon, 29, of Lake City, Fl., with charges of possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All the occupants were taken into custody without incident.
