The Fancy Flea Vintage Home & Garden Market will be held May 3 in downtown Madison from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event has been held in Lakeland until it was moved to Plant City in 2013.
Lori Powell is the mastermind behind this. She has a passion for redoing furniture and gathered some of her friends together and threw the first event. She said that the people responded and the event doubled and still continues to grow.
Cindy Poire of Madison Antiques Market wanted to do something similar to The Fancy Flea Vintage Home & Garden Market in Madison and contacted Powell about the possibility to holding the event in Madison. Powell had been searching for another venue and visited Madison. It was exactly what she wanted for her event.
“I felt this would be a really good thing for this town,” said Poire about The Fancy Flea Vintage Home & Garden Market coming to Madison.
Powell estimates there will be about fifty vendors for the event. She plans to not have any food vendors because she wants the people to visit the different restaurants that downtown Madison offers.
“It will be unlike anything that has ever been in Madison,” said Powell. “This is not your typical flea market.”
