Student Of The Week

Every week, Greene Publishing, Inc. will spotlight a student from one of the Madison County Schools in a ‘Student of the Week’ column. If you are a parent or educator and would like to nominate a student for this feature, please email Rose@greenepublishing.com.

Rihanna Jones is this week’s Student of the Week. She is a kindergartener at Greenville Elementary and is five years old. While at school, she likes doing math and rhyming games on the computer, but her favorite thing is playing at recess. While reading is not her favorite subject, she does have a favorite book, “Brown Bear, Brown Bear.” Rihanna has a twin sister Tihanna, who she plays “school” with at home; Rihanna is the student and Tihanna plays her teacher. She has more siblings at home, a third sister Makayla, 18, and two brothers, Vincenta Mitchell, 13, and Sharod Jones, 19.

Being Student of the Week for the newspaper, and being chosen by Principal Pettiford was okay, but what she liked most about being chosen for this distinction was having her picture taken with her mom and dad in the gym.
