Madison, Fl. is certainly a long way from St. Ouen l'Aumône in France. But that is where former Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowboy Brandon Crawford will be heading in order to play football. Crawford has signed with Global Pro Athletes to play football for the French team.
The 6'2”, 285 lb. Madison native played for the University of Buffalo after a stellar career as a Cowboy. While at MCHS, he was named All-State Second Team as a junior. During his senior year at MCHS, he was named All-State First Team, the MaxPreps 2012 Small Schools All-American Second Team, and was the MVP for the Fl. vs. Ga. All-Star Game.
While playing for the University of Buffalo, Crawford had 107 tackles, nine sacks, 22 tackles-for-loss, four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. Crawford graduated in May with a degree in interdisciplinary social science.
“I am truly excited and thankful for the opportunity to be playing in France. I always believed football would take me places I have never been before, but the opportunity I have now is one in a lifetime. I am able to continue to play the game that I love while also being able to expand my horizon by learning a new culture and seeing more of the world,” said Crawford.
The football season for St. Ouen l'Aumône will begin in Feb. 2018.
