The city of Madison got a real treat on Saturday, Nov. 14: an early showing of Prayer Never Fails. The premiere was held at Madison First United Methodist Church at 5 p.m. The film was originally planned to show at Valdosta Cinemas, but due to technology glitches, Wes Miller, director of the film, decided to show the film in Madison; graciously, First United Methodist Church opened its doors, and over 200 people attended the movie and wrap-up party. The film features the story of a basketball coach who was fired from his job for praying with a student. The film includes many of Madison's residents, including Ted Ensminger as Principal Patterson, the principal who fires the coach, Reggie Daniels as the Juror; Marianne Graves as Dr. Mitchell; Jessica Webb as Nancy Rogers, the wife of Judge Rogers played Lorenzo Lamas; Justin Webb as assistant basketball coach; Dawn Renner as a teacher in the film along with many more familiar faces of Madison County. Amanda Norris of Daisy and Dukes Boutique also contributed to the film by working in Costume and Production Design for the film. The wrap-up after party was held at 8 p.m. at the Main Street Playhouse and Event Center in downtown Madison.
Those who attended got a chance to meet with the director, as well as the producer Leonard Ohaebosim, and share their feedback about the film. Miller introduced, thanked and honored all of the Madison County locals and businesses that helped with the film. Miller gave a special recognition to Badcock Furniture, as they provided a lot of furniture for the sets, and Norris Cafe, as they catered to the after party, providing refreshments to everyone in attendance. Webb was given a special thanks by Ohaebosim, who called Webb “the backbone” of the film. She worked as the Location Manager and Local Casting Director for Prayer Never Fails. It was a fantastic night as everyone celebrated the movie's success. Prayer Never Fails is set to be released in theaters January 15, 2016.
