Boyz to Kings

On Saturday, May 15, at the Boyz to Kings (BTK) Headquarters, two of BTK 18-year-old seniors graduated from the program. Zarrion Robinson and Jabin Williams were welcomed with standing applause from all of their BTK peers before proceeding with the awards. Both parents spoke highly of the BTK services and gave thanks for not giving up on their sons and being there whenever they needed.
Some of the BTK youth gave words of encouragement and thanks to both graduates. The BTK team members shared memories, and although both are graduating at the same time, Jabin served three years inside BTK and Zarrion joined when he was seven-years-old. Both young men gave a speech to their peers and encouraged them to never give up, to listen and to know their worth.
They received a plaque, a certificate of completion and a creative royal bag of goodies from BTK Board Member and Vice President Margaret Frazier, of Lamont, Fla. "This was one of the best decisions I ever made, besides marrying my wife," stated CEO Merv Mattair. "Starting Boyz to Kings in 2009 has given me so much hope for the future. To see young men and parents step up to the plate to create a craving for our services makes me praise God more and seek His guidance daily. These young men did it, but the true credit goes to their parents for shifting their minds from traditional things to give what we were offering to their sons. The power is in the parents and when it comes to our sons, we should never allow any system, tradition or community norm to consume their minds and time, that has no relevance to their transition from a boy to a productive King."
