Wallace Edward Pickles, 79, of Live Oak passed away on Friday, December 26, in Gainesville. Wallace was born in Madison and moved to Live Oak from Tallahassee 53 years ago. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for Florida Power where he retired as a Chief Operator at the Ellaville power plant. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and R.A. Director.
He was married to Wynema Pickles of Live Oak for 56 years. He is survived by daughters: Genie and Giz Croft, of Lee; and Brenda Pickles, of Pinetta; sons: Eddie Pickles, of Live Oak and John and Shelly Pickles, of Live Oak; sisters: Louise and Elbert Strickland, of Madison and Ann and Hubert Nash, of Madison; brother, Douglas and Shannon Pickles, of Jasper; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services for Wallace were held at Pine Level Baptist Church at 11 a.m., on Tuesday December 30, with viewing from 10-11 a.m., before the service with Rev. Lester Curry officiating. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery.
