Obituary: Cecil Columbus Fitzgerald

Screen shot 2014-04-15 at 1.44.04 PMCecil Columbus Fitzgerald, 94, died Sunday, April 13, at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 16, at 2 p.m., at Beggs Funeral Home with the burial at 4 p.m., at Hopewell Baptist Cemetery in Moultrie, Ga. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m., at Beggs Funeral Home.
Cecil was born in Rochelle, Ga. and moved to Greenville in 1966 coming from Moultrie, Ga. He was a World War II veteran who loved his family and his church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping others. He loved traveling and was a member of Greenville Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
Cecil is survived by three sons: Jimmy Fitzgerald (Rita), Donnie Fitzgerald and Steve Fitzgerald (Babs); two step-sons: Donald Bishop (Doris) and Doug Bishop (Donna); one step-daughter: Patsy Davis (Archie); four grandchildren: Chad Fitzgerald, Clay Fitzgerald, Cameron Fitzgerald and Allen Fitzgerald; seven step-grandchildren: Teresa Bayless, Christy Androski, Dulcey Hunter, Don Bishop, Doug Bishop, Jamie Davis and Lonnie Davis; five great grandchildren and 18 step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Lewis Fitzgerald and his second wife, Harriett Bishop Fitzgerald.
