Audrey Blanton, 74, of Madison, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 25. He was born on January 15, 1940 in Madison County. Mr. Blanton was a lifelong resident of Madison County and a member of the Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church. He loved Church and also loved fishing and spending time with his family.
Mr. Blanton is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Blanton, of Madison; two daughters: Farie Haskell (Doug), of Madison and Melissa Rodgers (Joe), of Perry; one brother, Almon Blanton, of Perry; two sisters: Evelyn Stephens and Myrtle Watts, both of Perry; four grandchildren: Chad McGriff (Memori), Kelsey McGriff, Beau Rodgers and Chance Rodgers; and two great-grandchildren: Rylan and Adyson McGriff. He was predeceased by his father and mother: Grover Cleveland Blanton and Farie Ella English Blanton; two brothers: Grover Blanton, Jr. and Evan Blanton and one sister: Jewel Tyson.
The family received friends Friday, December 26, from 5-7 p.m., at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel in Madison. Funeral services for Mr. Blanton were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, December 27, at Beggs Chapel in Madison with Elder Gary Blanton officiating. Burial was held at San Pedro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church, 603 SW Eden Way, Greenville, Florida 32331.
