Obituary: Ardelia “Delia” Holton Thomas

Ardelia “Delia” Holton Thomas, 96, died Wednesday, November 12, at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 14, at 1 p.m., at Beggs Funeral Home, Madison Chapel with burial at Midway Cemetery, in Lee. Visitation will be Thursday, November 13, from 6 – 8 p.m., at Beggs Funeral Home.

She was born in Columbia County and lived most of her life in Madison County. In her earlier years, she and her husband, T. J. farmed. Later she worked at several department stores in Madison before becoming manager of Super Dollar until her retirement. She was the oldest founding member of Midway Church of God.

She is survived by one son, Elvoye (Betty) Thomas, of Lee; one daughter, Martha Ann Baxter, of Plant City; one daughter-in-law, Gloria Thomas, of Bainbridge, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, T. J. Thomas; one son, James Thomas; and one son-in-law, Ralph Baxter.

She spent her last eight years at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center. The family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care given to her and support shown to the family over the years.
