On Thursday, March 30, the 7th – 12th graders from New Testament Christian School (NTCS) traveled to Atlanta, Ga. to take in several sites. Teachers Debbie Starling and Ondria Hanks accompanied the students. Parents Shannon and Jason Kinsey also went with the group.
During their trip, the group stayed with Mrs. Hanks’ parents (Greg and Elaine Sloan) in Lilburn, Ga.
On Friday morning, the group started their day with breakfast and a devotional led by Elaine
Sloan. Next, the group traveled to the Kensington Station and rode the MARTA into downtown Atlanta. The NTCS group enjoyed lunch at the CNN Tower, followed by some time at Centennial Park.
During the afternoon, the students and chaperones toured the World of Coke and visited the Georgia Aquarium.
Following the tours, they took the MARTA back to Kensington Station. They then had a late-night dinner at IHOP at 10 p.m.
Saturday morning started again with breakfast at the Sloan’s home, followed by a devotional delivered, this time, by Greg Sloan.
When the students and chaperones left the Sloan’s home, they went to Stone Mountain, where they took in the historic exhibits and the mountain scenery.
The group left Stone Mountain to return home about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 1.
Everyone came home tired, but it seems everyone enjoyed the trip. “I enjoyed it. Stone Mountain was my favorite part. It was a fun-filled trip with a lot of memories with my friends,” said ninth grader Gabriel Kervin,
“It was a great trip. I’ve never actually been in Atlanta before. It was really fun. My favorite part was riding the MARTA Subway. We rode at night, so it was really cool seeing the city lights at night,” said another ninth grader, Caitlyn Jordan.
