MPD received 2,252 calls in January

The Madison Police Department responded to the highest number of calls in the fiscal year that started October 2014 with a total of 2,252 in January. Since October 2014, the department has received 8,085 calls for service. There were 23 reported felonies, 19 reported misdemeanors and 87 incidents reports. Of the 87 incidents reported there were 10 burglaries, one robbery, one aggravated assault and one drug arrest. The department cleared eight felonies and 11 misdemeanors. There were 86 written or verbal warning citations issued. Three criminal citations were issued and 47 non-criminal citations were issued. The department investigated 10 traffic accidents.
