MPD received 1,621 calls in April

The Madison Police Department responded to 1,621 calls in April. This is 65 calls less than in March. Since October 2014, the department has received 13, 276 calls for service. There were 18 reported felonies, 26 reported misdemeanors and 116 incidents reports. Of the 116 incidents reported there were five burglaries, one aggravated assault, one domestic violence case and one drug arrest. The department cleared eight felonies and 16 misdemeanors. There were 234 warning citations issued. No criminal citations were issued and 14 non-criminal citations were issued. The department investigated nine traffic accidents.
