The Madison Police Department has issued a report regarding a suspicious incident that took place Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the Four Freedoms Park around 10 a.m.
According to an eyewitness at the scene, a white male was seen running through the park that is located on Base and Range St. Following the male was a grey or silver sedan that jumped the curb and seemed to be chasing the male through the park.
The eyewitness then reported that the sedan stopped, the male got into the vehicle and then a second male joined them and entered the vehicle.
A second eyewitness was contacted who confirmed the first eyewitness’ report and informed the MPD officer that the driver of the silver or grey sedan was a white female and before entering the park, the female driver was traveling west on Marion St., ran the stop sign at Marion and Range, turned left on Range then came up behind a Ford pick-up that was parked on the grass. The driver then jumped the curb to drive into the park, crossed the sidewalk and drove up onto the grass.
The driver then drove her sedan around a pine tree, knocking over the trash can that was by the gazebo before continuing to drive around the park, hitting and moving the bleachers.
The second eyewitness stated that it appeared that the vehicle was chasing the white male.
The sedan then left the park at the same place where it had entered and stopped long enough for two males to enter the vehicle before it drove away and headed east on Marion; one of the males being the one that was appeared to have been chased.
