Minister Oliver J. Bradley has resigned his position as Pastor of Genesis M.B. Church, of Madison. Pastor Bradley has served the Genesis Church family for the past two years as Pastor, Teacher and Servant Leader. He was licensed and ordained to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ under Rev. David Delaughter at Damascus Baptist Church, of Madison, and has previously served as Pastor at Morningstar M.B Church for 13 years. Bradley is currently serving as the Dean of the First Bethlehem Baptist Association, Congress of Christian Education, where Rev. Dr. Robert Butler is the President and Rev. Isaac Manning is the Moderator of the Association.
Pastor Bradley and Dean Juanita Scott, of Perry, were recently awarded The Southeastern Region Christian Leadership School of the Year by the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., Sunday School Publishing Board and Christian Education Division in Nashville, Tn. The Southeastern Region includes the states Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. Rev. Dr. Benjamin E. V. Lett is the Regional Coordinator and Rev. Derrick Jackson is the Executive Director of the Sunday School Publishing Board.
Pastor Bradley considers it a great honor to have received the award for the second time and would like to express his appreciation to all of the instructors and youth workers who helped to make it possible. Bradley is a bi-vocational Pastor and has worked for the Madison County Board of County Commissioners for the past twenty years as the County Veterans Service Officer. He is married to Ms. Jacqueline E. Haynes, who is a P.E. teacher at Madison County Central School. They have one son, Joshua, who is a student at Madison County High School and was recently inducted into the BETA Club Honor Society and is also a member of the MCHS Cowboys Football Team.
Pastor Bradley has expressed his appreciation to the Genesis Church family for the opportunity to serve them for the past two years, in his letter of resignation, which was effective Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014. The Genesis M.B Church will continue to ┬áhave worship service every Sunday, beginning with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., Morning Worship at 11 a.m. Wednesday services will also remain the same; Mid-Week Prayer Service and Bible Study at 6 p.m. Deacon James (J.D.)
