The Madison Fire Rescue assists residents in both the city and county for all their fire needs but they also assist with vehicle wrecks, medical assistance and transportation. In July, Madison Fire Rescue received a total of 81 calls. The department answered 28 calls in the city and 59 in the county. In the city, there were seven fire alarm calls, five medical assist calls, three calls each for motor vehicle crashes and LZ setup, two calls each for power line down and structure fire and one call each for tree fire, dumpster fire, lift assist, gas smell, transformer smoking and lock out. In the county, there were 30 motor vehicle crashes, nine medical assist calls, six fire alarm calls, three vehicle fires, two calls each for power line down and structure fire and one call each for LZ setup, tree down, false alarm, landfill fire, brush fire, gas leak and CO alarm.
