The Madison County Supervisor of Elections office has four ladies who work there and help the residents of Madison County with all of their needs concerning the election system. The ladies are Alfreda Fiffia, April Phillips, Sierra Akins and Krystal Tojeiro.
Alfreda Fiffia has been working in the office since 2007 and became a full-time employee in 2011. She is the Chief Elections Deputy. Her duties entail overseeing the day-to-day operations.
“I enjoy assisting the residents of Madison County in the election process and working with these wonderful people,” said Fiffia.
When she is not working, she spends times with her husband and two daughters. She describes herself as a hard worker, nice and friendly.
April Phillips has been working at the office for four months. She is the Chief Quality Assurance Deputy. She handles the bookkeeping and helps out at the front desk with people who need help with voter registration or candidate applications.
“I like the variety,” said Phillips. “Not being stuck on one specific thing and I enjoy working with my coworkers.”
Phillips describes herself as a person who loves to laugh. She is married to Bryan Phillips, who is the pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Madison. During the summertime, she loves to can vegetables and make jelly. When she has time, she enjoys reading and cross-stitching.
Sierra Akins has been working at the office part-time for six months and handles the voter applications, petitions and making sure all forms are complete before they are turned in.
“I enjoy working with my coworkers and seeing the election process,” said Akins.
She became involved with the Supervisor of Elections office when she worked as a poll worker. Akins’ current hobby is work, because when she is not working at the office she is working at Wild Adventures. She has a daughter who will turn three at the end of the month. Akins describes herself as a person who is always smiling.
Krystal Tojeiro has been working for the office for two and a half weeks. She is a summer intern through Career Source. She described her duties as following orders from Fiffia for what tasks need to be completed that day.
She likes working at the office and staying busy and productive. She also enjoys working with her coworkers. She describes the office as a family environment.
When Tojeiro is not working, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She describes herself as hardworking and a positive person.
