MCSO Gets Marijuana Off The Street

Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force and deputies of the Patrol Division arrested a man for possession of marijuana with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver and a woman for operating a motor vehicle with a cancelled, suspended or revoked driver’s license and having an illegal license plate after stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation, Thursday March 20 at 8:05 p.m. on Range Street.
According to the MCSO report, a male subject immediately exited the driver seat and was identified as John Skye Taylor Thomas, 22, of Valdosta, Ga. Deputies noted that the vehicle was being driven by a female just prior to the stop and determined that Thomas had changed places with the driver, later identified as Kayla Danielle Williams, 20, of Lake Park, Ga.
While discussing the traffic offenses with Thomas and Williams, investigators and deputies detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Investigators conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located a large zip lock bag containing loose marijuana and 22 individual bags also containing marijuana concealed inside the vehicle.
Thomas and Williams were arrested without incident. Thomas was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver. Williams was charged with having an illegal license plate and operating a motor vehicle with a cancelled, suspended or revoked driver’s license.
