On Friday, March 18, a shooting occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m.
In the area of 185 Apopka Trail in Madison County a man was shoot and killed in a gun related offense.
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart confirmed that the MCSO and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) are working together to uncover more information regarding the shooting incident and events surrounding it.
On Tuesday, March 22, four days after the incident, the victim’s name was released as Travis Lavonte Solomon.
MCSO and FDLE are still working hard to reveal the motive and suspect of the murder. Though investigators continue to question persons of interest, they have received little cooperation from those present during the shooting to assist with the identification of the person who, ultimately, shot Solomon.
Sheriff Stewart encourages those with information relating to the shooting to contact the Sheriff’s Office or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement with their information.
The Sheriff’s Office can be reached at (850) 973-4151 or the FDLE Live Oak office at (386) 330-2840.
