Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Saturday, July 19, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a deputy observed a subject driving a motorized scooter on the sidewalk of U.S. 90 traveling in a westerly direction. The deputy stopped the subject and explained the purpose for the stop. The deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the subject’s person. The subject was identified as Anthony Miller, Jr., of Madison. A pat down search of Miller revealed a plastic bag containing marijuana. The VIN number of the scooter was checked with NCIC/FCIC and discovered it was reported stolen back on June 5, 2014 and the entering agency was Tallahassee Police Department. Miller stated that he figured the scooter was stolen when he purchased it and did not know the person’s name from whom he purchased it from for $200. Miller was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of controlled substance.
