Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 2:43 p.m., Deputy Brandon Goldman was working traffic enforcement on Interstate 10, when he stopped a black Chevy Equinox for traveling at an unlawful speed. The driver was identified as Donta Devon Lowe, 38, of Jacksonville, Fl.
Deputy Goldman began issuing Lowe a written warning for the speed violation and ran a driver’s license check through MCSO Communications. While completing the warning, Communications informed Deputy Goldman that Lowe had an active arrest warrant from Duval County.
Deputy Goldman instructed Lowe to exit his vehicle and Lowe complied. While placing Lowe under arrest, Lowe told Deputy Goldman that he had marijuana and cocaine in the center console of the Chevy Equinox. Deputy Goldman recovered the illegal narcotics and Lowe was transported to the Madison County Jail without incident. He was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana under 20 grams and a warrant from Duval County.
Lowe has 15 prior arrests and 27 prior charges. His previous charges include possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, resisting an officer, selling crack cocaine, possession of drug equipment, fleeing/eluding a law enforcement officer, battery, probation violation, assault, possession of firearm/concealed weapon, trafficking cocaine and child abuse.
