From Wednesday, July 28, to Saturday, July 31, five local wakeboarders competed at Nationals in Winter Haven, Fla. Out of the five (Frank Glas, Bowen Glas, Harrison Glas, Brinson Rye and Jeremy Deen), one made it to finals and a couple qualified for the World Championships. Jeremy Deen had the opportunity to compete in Finals, where he placed second in his division and will be continuing onto Worlds. Brinson Rye placed sixth in his division and qualified for Worlds but is currently tending to a torn labrum. Harrison Glas placed fourth, Frank (Cinco) Glas placed eighth and Bowen Glas placed sixth. For most, it may not have went exactly the way they wanted, but the group is grateful for the numerous opportunities and will now be preparing for the next stage. The World Wake Association (WWA) World Championships will be held in Pine Mountain, Ga., from Wednesday, Aug. 25, to Saturday, Aug. 28.
