The Madison Fire Rescue assists residents in both the city and county for all their fire needs, but they also assist with vehicle wrecks, medical assistance and transportation. In June, Madison Fire Rescue received a total of 74 calls. The department answered 21 calls in the city and 53 in the county. In the city, there were three calls for power line down, four calls for tree on power line, two calls for gas smell, two fire alarms, one lockout, one assist Police, one assist EMS, one call for structure fire, one call for medical assist, one lock out, one call for LZ set up, one call for tree down, one call for trash fire, one call for smoke scare and one call for gas leak. There was $2,000 worth of damages. In the county, there were six calls for assist EMS, two calls for brush fire, one public assist, 13 calls for MVC, two calls for vehicle fire, six calls for a structure fire with one injury reported, nine calls for power line, one call for chemical odor, one call for body recovery, two calls for lift assist, four calls for medical assist, two calls for smoke scare, one lock out, one fire alarm, one tree down, one false call. There was a reported $86,000 worth of damages.
