During the month of April, the Madison Fire Rescue (MFR) responded to 44 various calls throughout the county.
Four brush fires were handled by MFR (and assisting departments), one taking place on April 2, another on April 3, the third on April 5, and the final on April 21.
Two vehicle fires were also put out by MFR; one fire taking place on Sr. 53 and another on SW Sumatra Ave.
Five fire alarms earned the response of MFR.
MFR responds to vehicle wreck scenes and, by far, those calls kept the MFR busy as they responded to 16 motor vehicle collisions during the month of April.
The second most frequent call was for medical assistance, as 10 of MFR’s calls during April were for medical related emergencies.
Other calls of note for MFR were a landing zone setup, a dumpster fire, leaking gas smell, a smoke scare, a lift assist, and one cat extraction.
