The second meeting of the Madison County Chapter of the Florida A & M University Alumni Association took place on Monday, October 20, at the Greenville Multi-Purpose Center. The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m., by President Travis Jones. There were over 20 members present.
The guest speaker for the occasion was Tommy Mitchell, the FAMU National Alumni Association President. President Mitchell discussed informing alumni and friends of the positive academic and non-academic successes at the university.
Vice President Willie ìPeteî Curry presented and asked for membership recruitment ideas. Ideas discussed included: visibility in local parades/activities, church and radio announcements, word-of-mouth and newspaper articles. Members participated in the MCHS homecoming parade in Madison on Friday, November 7th and the Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 8th in Greenville.
The next two Madison County Chapter of the FAMU Alumni Association meetings are scheduled for Monday, November 17 and Monday, December 15, at Allen Chapel AME Church in Greenville at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served at the December meeting. All FAMU Alumni, friends and supporters are invited to attend.
