Madison County Retired Educators Association Members Attends Florida Retired Educators Association Convention In St. Augustine

Mrs. Evelyn Murphy and Mr. Carson Ealy, Jr., of Madison, members of Madison County Retired Educators Association, attended the 60th Florida Retired Educators Association Convention in St.
Augustine, at the Renaissance World Golf Resort. Murphy and Ealy were among more than 500 retired educators who participated in the meeting that drew representatives from 10 Districts around Florida.
Convention highlights included a spectacular speaker and workshops. Attendees also heard a keynote speech from Betty Burney Executive Director of the “I’M A STAR” Foundation where the commitment is to empower and equip youth to transform themselves into solutions-oriented leaders in their schools and communities.
Convention delegates also learned about important issues facing communities around Florida, elected District Directors, Trustees, revisited the Association’s goals and helped set the future direction for Florida Retired Educators
