Lyric Mattair Lee, daughter of Merv and Denise Mattair, has finished her first book, “A Girl's Missing Piece: A Daughter's Appreciation for her dad's presence & a daddy's handbook.” The 63-page book will be available for ordering on Sunday, April 10, and Lee states that it is a reflection on her father's first book, “Word to My Kings & Queens: Achieving a Renewed & Improved Mind.”
Lee chose to write about the benefits of having an active and encouraging father in her life to inspire others to appreciate and learn from their fathers. “Girls need to appreciate their fathers and listen to them. When they get older, they are going to know Daddy was right,” said Lee. For those without fathers, Lee encourages young ladies to build on a foundation of self-love. Speaking of the absent fathers, Lee says, “He missed out, but you don't have to.” Lee's father made sure to not miss out on any part of his daughter's life. “My dad was always motivating me and encouraging me with words of affirmation. It meant the world to me,” said Lee. “He's still doing that today. Plus, I really appreciate the way he treated my mom. His example taught me that there was hope for finding a good man.”
Since becoming an adult, Lee has worked as an executive assistant for her father's organization, Boyz to Kings. She is currently working from home as an agent for Saks at 5th Avenue, helping clients with purchasing. Lee attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), majoring in Broadcast Journalism. She is a wife and mother to a beautiful one-year old princess and she loves to encourage and motivate young ladies across the world. Buying Lee's book is easy and affordable. It is selling for only $5 and is available for pre-order at www.herlyrics.com. Lee will also host a book signing in Madison in the near future.
