Terron Bruce Harry, age 18, of Lee, was facing rather serious charges of sexual battery, false imprisonment and assault-domestic violence after his girlfriend, another Madison County resident, filed charges against him.
According to court documents, Harry's girlfriend claimed that Harry had been at her residence for several hours and demanded to have sex. The girlfriend claimed that after she had refused, he led her to a shed and assaulted her while choking her and covering her mouth.
Harry was arrested by the Madison County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, June 1 for the allegations that his girlfriend had filed against him.
However, nearly a month later on Wednesday, June 22, the charges against Harry were dismissed after his accuser brought to light the reasons behind her claims.
Harry and his girlfriend, the alleged 'victim,' had recently broken up and according to documents from the Third Judicial Court, she had made up her allegations to “effectuate the breaking up of her relationship to the defendant.”
Harry was not convicted due to the dropped charges, but as his name had run in the local newspaper along with his arresting charges, he feared that his reputation had been tainted.
Harry's attorney, Lucas Taylor, who's office operates out of Live Oak, Fl., reached out to Greene Publishing, Inc. to request a notice be run that would clarify the details regarding Harry's arrest and inform the community that Harry's charges had been dropped and the arrest had been removed from Harry's personal records.
