In December of 2014, Sergeant Lauth and Staff Sergeant Andrews, with the Madison County Drug Task Force, conducted an investigation that resulted in Robert Turner Phillips being arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on July 16, 2015, Phillips received a suspended sentence to total 10 years to the Florida Department of Corrections for the aforementioned charges. However, he additionally received a 15-year term of probation to successfully complete in order to avoid the suspended Department of Corrections sentence.
On November 13, 2015, The Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a warrant for Robert Turner Phillips for violation of probation relating to his original charges and sentencing from the investigation conducted back in December 2014. Phillips had absconded but was eventually located and arrested on December 9 of 2015 for the most recent violation of probation warrant.
On Thursday, January 21, 2016, Phillips was re-sentenced by the court to a total sentence of 10 years to the Florida Department of Corrections.
