In over 1,000 Wendy’s locations including the Corporate Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, a Family Focus board sits on the wall. Three elements are displayed on the board: a quote about the General Manager of Madison’s Wendy’s and his teams efforts in the community, a picture of five-year-old Bensen Sparks holding a coupon for a free frosty and an article written by this reporter about the partnership between MCCS and Wendy’s. According to General Manager Willie Thomas, the picture and article were chosen to show how to build a business in a community regardless of whether the business’s location was at the interstate.
Bensen Spark’s was chosen to receive a free frosty after the Wendy’s staff was reading to his class and Bensen was always attentive and participated in answering the questions. Bensen is the son of Dustin and Katie Sparks. His mother, Katie Sparks took a picture with him and the coupon. When time came to choose a picture for the advertisement, everyone loved the picture of Bensen. Bensen thinks that being on the board in over 1,000 Wendy’s is “super cool.” Next time you stop at a Wendy’s, check and see if Bensen’s smiling face is there.
