After almost two years of working for the Madison County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism, Executive Director Lisa Frieman is saying goodbye. Although she will miss working at the chamber, Frieman is sticking close to the Madison County community and has obtained a position as the fiscal officer at the Madison County Senior Citizens Council.
Frieman previously worked at the Senior Center before working at the chamber and was the fiscal officer for five years. Frieman found great joy within that position, recalling that she used to give a hug and a kiss to every senior every morning. She looks forward to returning to the senior center.
One of the many things that is distinguishable about Frieman, besides her cheery personality, is her thick English accent. Although she was born in Milwaukee, Frieman's family moved to England when she was four months old.
She attended Manchester Metro University and majored in social and economic history. Her first job was in accounting, which applies well to her new job as fiscal officer, where she will be doing accounting and budget managing for the senior center.
Frieman has lived many places, but calls Madison her home. She has been married to her husband, Lamar, for eight years and together, they have two children, Elaine, who is 29 years old and Hannah, who is 13 years old.
