Lee Resident Shot Twice In Madison

A Lee resident was shot twice while walking on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive south of Brooklyn Street on Saturday, May 24, at approximately 11 p.m.
Davion McDaniel, 19, was transported to the Madison County Memorial Hospital, triaged, and was subsequently transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital via life flight.
Four unknown subjects approached the victim on foot and some type of altercation ensued. The suspect remains unidentified at this time.
A Tallahassee Police Department officer was asked to check on McDaniel upon arrival at TMH.  The officer stated he was able to talk and in the officer’s opinion appeared stable. Sgt. James Roebuck traveled to TMH after the victim was transported in an attempt to gather more information.
The victim is expected to make a full recovery and should be released soon from the hospital.  The investigation is still ongoing.
