The Madison County Sheriff's Department is seeking information that could lead to the whereabouts of a wanted man.
On Dec. 3, 2015, Kevin Cornelius Gardner, of Madison, was adjudicated guilty for Sexual Battery by person in Familial or Custodial Authority and Impregnation of a Minor. He was sentenced to 10 years in the Florida Department of Corrections followed by 15 years of Sex Offender Probation.
However, the Third Judicial Court, in and for Madison County, granted a furlough for Gardner, which allowed him not to be taken into immediate custody but rather voluntarily report to the Madison County Jail no later than 9 a.m. on Jan. 5.
Gardner failed to report and an amended warrant for Gardner was obtained to include an additional charge of absconding.
Gardner remains at large and any information, concerning the location or whereabouts of this subject, can be phoned in to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 973-4001.Abigail Morgan was untouchable on Tuesday, April 26, as she threw a no-hitter in Aucilla Christian Academy Lady Warriors' 10-0 victory over Countryside Christian during the regional championship.
No Countryside Christian batter was able to locate Morgan's pitches during the game. Morgan threw a no-hitter, striking out 11 batters and walking two while recording her momentous feat. She got Katelyn Prado to strike out for the final out of the game.
Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Lady Warriors to easily put away Countryside Christian. A sacrifice fly by Kelly Horne, an RBI single by Morgan and an RBI double by Carly Joiner during the first inning and an RBI single by Taylor Copeland and an RBI single by Natalie Sorensen in the second inning fueled the Lady Warriors' offense early.
Natalie Sorensen went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Lady Warriors.
Bethany Thomas, of Countryside Christian, was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed eight runs in three innings, walked two and struck out none.
As a result, of their win against Countryside Christian, the Lady Warriors will be heading to the 2A semi-finals on Wednesday, May 4 at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Fl. The time for the Class 2A semi-finals is 10:35 a.m.
If the Lady Warriors win the semi-finals, they will play for the state championship title on Thursday, May 5 at 11:05 a.m.
The Lady Warriors are currently the defending State Champions after defeating Grandview Prep last year for the state championship title.
Admission for the semifinal game will be $7, while the state championship admission will be $9. Parking at the state championship game will be $10 for cars and $25 for buses, according to www.fhsaa.org.
