The Florida Highway Patrol recovered an infant that was kidnapped from St. John’s County and arrested four women on kidnapping charges. The traffic stop and arrests were made in Madison County on Interstate 10, on Sunday, August 17 at 11:07 p.m.

Florida Highway Patrol Trooper John Sleigher was informed of a vehicle BOLO (Be on the Lookout) notice for a white Chevrolet HHR occupied by four black females and one ten-month-old black child in reference to a kidnapping out of St. John’s County. At 11:05 p.m., on Sunday, August 17, while patrolling Interstate 10 in Madison County, Trooper Sleigher observed a vehicle matching the BOLO notice pass him traveling westbound. At 11:07 p.m., Trooper Sleigher, along with Trooper Nathan Stidham, stopped the vehicle on westbound I-10 in the area of mile marker 255. While Trooper Sleigher made contact with the driver, Trooper Stidham made contact with the right rear passenger and the child. Trooper Stidham advised that the child’s clothing description matched that of the BOLO notice.

At that time, Trooper Stidham took custody of the child until the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) arrived. It was confirmed that there was probable cause for the arrest of the four vehicle occupants. Trooper Sleigher placed the suspects under arrest for kidnapping and transported them to the Madison County Jail without incident. The suspects have been identified as Jakevia Rodriguez, 30 of Colquitt, Ga., Latoya Rodriguez, 31 of Colquitt, Ga., Precious Seymour, 23 of Miami Gardens, Fl. and Lakeysha Robinson, 29, of Satsuma, Fl.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Children and Families.
