On Friday, April 15, at the FHSAA Weightlifting State Championship in Kissimmee, Fl., the Madison County High School Cowboys weightlifting team had several participants. Ke'Juan Irvine came in second place in the 119 pound weight class, an impressive achievement. This was Irvine's second year competing.
“I would like to thank [Coach Ertzberger] for all he does,” said Irvine. “Without him, I wouldn't be where I am today.”
Irvine also encouraged his fellow teammates to keep working hard towards their goals. “Hopefully they'll be able to win State next year,” said Irvine.
Irvine is a senior at MCHS and the grandson of Willie and Ola Alexander. Irvine is enlisted in the military and plans to pursue opportunities within that occupation after high school.
