Jacob Moore has been selected by Post #131 in Greenville as the Boy’s State delegate for 2014. Boy’s State is the premier youth leadership program sponsored by the American Legion Department of Florida. This 71st session will be held July 6-12 at Florida State University in Tallahassee. Post Commander Roy Scott explained only males who have successfully completed their junior year of high school and have at least one semester of high school remaining are considered. The candidate must have a 3.2 or above GPA and an interest in the governmental process.
Other requirements are outstanding leadership, character and scholarship. Jacob Moore has a 3.9 GPA and is a dual-enrolled student at North Florida Community College. Moore has also been selected to attend Naval Academy Summer Seminar and West Point Summer Leaders Experience. He plays on the Madison County football, tennis and track teams.
Moore is also a member of Madison First United Methodist Church where he is active in several activities. He is the son of Beth and Theron Moore.
