In a special meeting on Monday, Sept. 26, the Greenville Town Council held their final public hearing before voting on a final budget and millage rate for fiscal year (FY) 2016-17. Two resolutions were introduced. The first resolution, resolution number 2016-10 called for a millage rate of 9.0439 for FY 2016-17. After no public discussion on this resolution, the resolution passed on a vote of three to one with Barbara Dansey casting the lone “nay” vote. Council member Joi Collins was not present for the vote. The next resolution, resolution number 2016-11, called for a final budget of $2,175,340 for FY 2016-17. After no discussion on the budget from the public, the resolution was passed on a unanimous vote.
The next scheduled meeting of the Greenville Town Council will be held on Monday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place at Greenville Town Hall, 154 SW Old Mission Ave., in Greenville.
