Greenville Resident Dies in Car Wreck

A Local Greenville resident died in a car wreck on Monday, May 19 in Taylor County at 5 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Austin Levi Goit, age 21, a resident of Greenville, was traveling westbound on Pleasant Grove Road, east of US Hwy 19, on a curve and traveled into the path of Charles Berton Delahunt, age 43, also a resident of Greenville. Delahunt had been traveling eastbound on Pleasant Grove Road. The front of Goit’s Chevrolet Trailblazer collided with the front of Delahunt’s Dodge Dakota.
Goit’s vehicle rotated clockwise onto the south shoulder and came to a final resting place facing north on the shoulder. Delahunt’s vehicle came to a resting place facing the southeast direction in the eastbound lane.
Goit had minor injuries and was transported to Doctor’s Memorial Hospital, in Perry. Delahunt was pronounced deceased at the scene.
