On Dec. 18, Greenville Elementary School’s third, fourth and fifth graders stayed traditional and took on the classic Charles Dickens play, “A Christmas Carol.” GES faculty and staff directed the play that was performed by the elementary school’s students, who all did a great job.
The school stayed true to the classic, and captured the play’s moral theme and strong characters, delighting parents and visitors who attended the performance. The school was able to introduce not only an inaugural play to the school but proudly showed off their stage’s new curtain, which added to the play’s appeal.
Principal Barbara Pettiford said the students were excited about the play and feels it is a needed part of the school’s curriculum. The smiles on the faces of the performers, as they took their bows at the curtain call, proved she is correct.
