Get ready! The 30th Annual Greenville Country Christmas is coming this weekend! This two-day event is sure to be jam-packed with fun for all ages. Greenville Country Christmas will kick off on Friday, Dec. 11 with a bake-off contest held at 5 p.m. Bake-off drop off entries are due at 4 p.m., and the judging will begin at 5 p.m. Next, there will be lots of Christmas activities held at Haffye Hayes Park and Gazebo at 6 p.m., including invocation, announcements, community caroling, a live nativity scene and a tree lighting ceremony. Friday's events will conclude with community refreshments in the Greenville/Madison Multi-Purpose Center at 7 p.m. There will be delicious food served from Double H Diner, so come hungry! On Saturday, Dec. 12, Greenville Country Christmas will continue, starting off with a children's art contest and blood drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Blood Drive will begin at noon and is sponsored by the American Legion Post 131. Equipment will be provided by OneBlood. Along with these activities, there will be door prize winners announced throughout the day. Tickets can be purchased at vendor booths in the park. At 9 a.m., the park will also be bursting with fun and creativity as the arts and crafts booths open. At 10 a.m., there will be an opening ceremony, which includes prayer, The National Anthem, Flag Salute and recognition of Grand Marshal and Citizen of the Year, followed by a parade at 11 a.m. Local favorites like Santa Claus and Smokey the Bear will be included in this great parade line up! After the parade, stay tuned, as the bake-off contest winners and children's art contest winners will be announced at noon. Following, there will be a cake auction held and Southern Rock Club will perform at 1:15 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the fun.
