Greeneville Elementary holds May Day Celebration

Greenville Elementary School hosted a May Day Celebration on Friday, May 29. Avionna Ware welcomed the guests and Dylan Agner led the Pledge of Allegiance. The May Day Court was presented to the guests: Ta’Kiyah Gilley and Jo’marrion Jackson (Headstart Program); Shania Bell and Kiah Dennis (Pre-Kindergarten); An’Taniyah Lee and Vince Coley (Kindergarten); Hafetha Aayad and Zakari Hopkins (First Grade); Marley Miller and Detrez Lamar (Second Grade); Asia Fead and J’Nariez Miller (Third Grade); Sa’Riyah Murray and Jo’Kori Jackson (Fourth Grade); Javonnah Wims, Montrezus Hopkins, Dakayla Hopkins and Jonathan Mitchell (Fifth Grade).

The guests were treated to a dance from each grade. One class performed the Twist, while others choreographed an original dance. The fourth grade class even invited their guests to the stage to dance with them. ­The final event at the May Day celebration was the crowning of the May Day Queen and King. The Queen and King are fifth graders, Dakayla Hopkins and Montrezus Hopkins.
