On Monday, July 4, the nation celebrated the United States’ independence. In Madison County everyone celebrated too around Lake Francis and at the Haffye Hayes Park in Greenville. Pictured are the bright explosions of fireworks against the night sky during the God and Country Festival, which was sponsored by the Lions Club and held at Lake Francis. The fireworks show lasted 21 minutes and residents from all over the county came out to enjoy the brilliant display and remember the battles that made our nation free, 240 years ago.
